Cinesite Internships
There is a wealth of untapped visual effects talent available to leading companies like Cinesite, and we have a scheme in place to recognise it. “INSPIRE”, Cinesite's talent development program, aims to:
- Support educational institutions offering courses in Animation and Effects
- Identify and encourage new talent through an internship program
We welcomed applications for internships across the following range of specialities: Compositing, Digital Matte Painting, Lighting, Texturing, FX, Modelling, Animation, Pipeline/Programming and Shader Writing.
We're pleased to announce that after receiving over 250 applications, we've chosen two candidates for our programme which will run at our Soho offices for six weeks over the Summer 2010 period.
Chris Mulcaster graduated from Portsmouth University last year after completing a BA in Computer Animation as well as a 12-week Visual Effects course at Escape Studios in London. He was chosen because of the high quality skills he demonstrated as a general artist, with Cinesite commenting on his exceptional modelling and texturing talent.
Alex Betancourt is due to graduate from Bournemouth University in June with a BA in Computer Visualisation and Animation. He was chosen because of the confident lighting and shader writing work he conveyed throughout his showreel.
Both winners will now go on to work on our upcoming projects including Fox/Walden's "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" and Disney/Pixar's "John Carter of Mars".
Antony Hunt, managing director of Cinesite, said, "We were truly overwhelmed by the number of applications we received and the standard of showreels submitted. I'd like to welcome Chris and Alex to our team and hope that they enjoy their time with us and get some great experience out of this placement. We'll be running the Inspire Programme again next year and hope to continue to grow this programme year-on-year as it's a great way for us to find, grow and nurture new talent."
