Cinesite is recruiting a Lead Texture Artist for our London studio:

The Role:

  • Create photorealistic textures for digital assets using the supplied photographic reference material and/or concept artwork.
  • Work with R&D and Supervisors of the show to guide the overall approach to texturing.
  • Contribute to the overall operation and improvement of the Texturing team.
  • Ability to receive creative feedback and translate it into more specific and technical notes for the artists.
  • Give direction and constructive feedback to maintain the required standard of work.
  • Work closely with the modelling team to ensure optimized UV’s.
  • Liaise with the Look development and Lighting artists to ensure textures are optimised for render.
  • Be able to manage time and resources to meet deadlines.
  • Promote interdepartmental collaboration.
  • Complete or oversee the most difficult work and complex sequences. 

We’d like to talk to you if you have: 

  • Strong creative skills and a thorough understanding of the techniques required to generate texture images using a combination of photographs and digital painting.
  • Thorough understanding of the texturing process and the ability to both interpret designs and manipulate photographic reference material.
  • Previous experience creating textures for photorealistic organic and hard surface digital models
  • Advanced knowledge of Photoshop and Mari, a strong working knowledge of Maya and UV’s, and a good understanding of Zbrush/Mudbox,
  • Experience with Look development such as working with shading networks
  • Strong understanding of image colour space relating to texture painting
  • Thorough understanding of the visual effects pipeline
  • Ability to work well in a team and solve texture specific issues independently
  • Experience leading and training others
  • Excellent time management and communication skills
  • Previous film industry experience
