Join us at FMX 2024 on April 23rd for an exclusive presentation by Cinesite’s Head of CG, Andrew McNamara, as he discusses the studio’s new immersive division.

Andrew McNamara will present two landmark works, framing them within the evolving digital entertainment industry and the changing landscape of VFX at Cinesite. From transforming masterpieces at Frameless, such as the powerful REMBRANDT seascape that won the Visual Effects Society award, to collaborating with Roland Lane on the short film FORSAKEN, showcased at Outernet’s wrap-around screens in central London—these projects serve as both immersive digital artworks and calls-to-action.

Olympia London | Thursday, May 16th, 10:30am

THE MEDIA PRODUCTION TECHNOLOGY SHOW

Cinesite will be participating in the Media Production & Technology Show, taking place from May 15 to 16, 2024, at Olympia London.

Our London General Manager Jocelin Capper will be a speaker for the 10.30am session – VFX State of the Nation

VFX houses were expected to have an especially tough first half of 2024 waiting for work that had been held up by the writers and actors strike to finally arriving at VFX facilities. Many VFX houses have had to scale down their workforce to try to ensure they can survive the quiet period (anticipated to last around 4-6 months) before work starts to hopefully flood in. Has that been enough? Has the first half of 2024 been as challenging as expected, or has other type of work replaced scripted HETV and features to help plug the gap? Are productions now starting to come in? Is it anticipated there will soon be a traffic jam of productions requiring VFX work, mirroring the post-pandemic return the industry witnessed in 2021/22? How are VFX houses gearing up for this?

The session will also look at the tech impacting VFX in 2024, and in particular how GenAI developments are making a mark on the visual effects sector.
