Getting the “light-bleed effects and the things you see in nature” is possible with ray tracing, “but the end result is you get a lot of noisy pixels. Eventually you can resolve it if you let (the computer) run and run and run. But if you’re making animated movies, you don’t have time to let each of those frames run for a week.”
