Associate Production Manager

Cinesite Vancouver Inc. is seeking a Associate Production Manager to help us embark on an exciting new CGI animated theatrical feature film, The Addams Family!

This position works with all levels of Production Management and crew in order to merge creative and production goals to complete projects on time and on budget. Direct reports include production coordinator(s) and production assistant(s). This position will report to the Production Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Understand the level of quality for feature deliveries is a must
  • Maintain production data in the studio’s production database to reflect scheduled, in-progress, and completed departmental work. Collaborate with production coordinators and assistants to keep all data accurate and current
  • Ensure proper preparation for all meetings and reviews
  • Partner with all CG department leads to successfully run the day-to-day operations of the production
  • Keen ability to work effectively with all levels and types of staff
  • As a member of management, ensure and protect a highly functional team that includes the ability to communication effectively up, down and across the show and the studio
  • Assist Production Manager to develop and manage schedules and resource for all CG departments
  • Provide updates and specific information to the Production Manager on production related changes, delays, requests, etc. Produce a high level of problem solving services in areas such as: pipeline bottlenecks, time adjustments, morale issues, equipment/supplies, etc.
  • In conjunction with production coordinator(s), oversee and maintain all department schedules which are usually changing on a weekly or daily basis
  • Working closely with the Production Manager on production team training, scheduling adjustments, communicating with all CG departments to create an efficient workflow
  • Help maintain in house production schedule/tracking documents and system
  • Facilitate inter-department and inter-lead communication
  • Perform excellent people skills to resolve conflict, creating a positive and friendly  environment across all departments
  • Attend creative review and noting any potential issues and discuss with Production Manager afterwards
  • Suggest production solutions that will allow for needed creative changes to be made
  • Be supportive during critical production times
Required Skills and Experience:
  •  3+ years proven production experience in established Animation or VFX facility
  • Experience in working on features is a must
  • Experience in highly technical, dynamic departments is a must
  • Experience with heavy schedule management in a time sensitive, deadline oriented atmosphere
  • Must be diligent, resourceful, meticulous and able to thrive under pressure
  • Thorough understanding of CG production pipelines is an asset
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Exceptional people skills and the ability to work within a team environment
  • Must be able to handle multiple changing priorities understand how this impacts departmental schedules
  • Able to communicate effectively across multiple teams
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Applications such as Word, Excel, Office
  • Experience with Shotgun Tracking System an asset
  • BC residents preferred, but not required
