Cinesite honoured at VES Awards 2024

Congratulations to our Immersive team!

We’re excited to share that a handful of our amazing artists behind the Rembrandt seascape: Andrew McNamara, Sebastian Read, Andrew Kinnear & Sam Matthews were honoured with a VES Award at the 22nd Annual VES Awards Ceremony, which took place at the The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California on February 21st.

The VES Awards recognises outstanding visual effects artistry and innovation worldwide in film, animation, television, commercials and video games, and the VFX supervisors, VFX producers and artists who bring this work to life.

We’re so pleased to see the contributions that our crew made to the Rembrandt seascape honoured with a VES Award for ‘Outstanding Visual Effects for a Special Venue Project’.

Earlier this year we announced our studio had entered into a long-term partnership with Frameless Creative, the company behind the UK’s largest and London’s first permanent multi-sensory art experience. The Rembrandt seascape was the first masterpiece that we applied Hollywood style visual effects to under the direction of Ryan Atwood, Frameless creative director. Commenting on the work Ryan said “This process has been about exploring how we can harness the film experience of the team to enhance our overall storytelling capabilities and the level of detail and effects in the artworks, really investing in the emotional connection our visitors can have with the work. The results are spectacular.”

In this making-of featurette, discover how Cinesite’s immersive team brought Hollywood style visual effects into the world of art.
